My finances are fog

You avoid the numbers. Or you obsess. Either way the house has no written money standard.

Diagnosis

Fog is a strategy. If you never look, you never have to change. Stewardship is not a personality. It is four lines written down: give, save, owe, live — then the next decision matches the paper, not the mood.

Protocol

  1. 1Get every number on one page this week. Accounts, debt, what comes in, what leaves. Shame hates daylight.
  2. 2Write the four-line standard with whoever shares the house.
  3. 3Make the next money decision against that page. One decision. Then another.

The standard: Numbers on one page. A written standard. No mystery spending.

So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?
