I don't know who I am without the role

Job title, parent, athlete, rank, follower count — remove it and there is static.

Diagnosis

Roles are assignments. They are not a soul. Military, corporate, stage — same trap. When the uniform comes off you meet the person who was wearing it. That meeting is the work.

Protocol

  1. 1List roles you would still respect if the titles vanished.
  2. 2Write a one-sentence standard for how you treat people when nobody can promote you.
  3. 3Do one hour of unpaid, unposted work that matches that sentence.

The standard: Character first. Roles second. Audience last.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
