Diagnosis
The event was real. The identity is optional. If every decision is downstream of the worst day, you handed that day the rest of your life. Honor it. Then take the wheel back.
Protocol
- 1Write the event in one paragraph. Then write who you are without it as the headline.
- 2Notice 'because of that, I can't…' and convert one of those into a skill you will train.
- 3Tell one trusted person the new sentence. Ask them to catch you when you revert.
The standard: The past gets a chapter. It does not get the title of the book.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
Isaiah 43:18–19
